Bourjos, Robinson start in Matheny's mostly right lineup

NEW YORK • One way to present the Cardinals' lineup for tonight's game at Citi Field against the New York Mets would be to list it by handedness. That's about as telling as you can get with tonight's starters.

The Cardinals will start with a batter L.

After him ... R, R, R, R, R, R, R and finally R.

Peter Bourjos comes out of dry dock and Shane Robinson appears as a starter today as the Cardinals face lefty Jon Niese. The Mets lefty has yet to give up a hit to a lefthanded batter this season. He's faced one in 13 at-bats and he's struck out five of them. That runs true to his three-year splits as well. He's allowed lefties a .247 average and a .362 slugging percentage in his past three seasons, and righties have done better, .272 and .405, respectively.

Matt Carpenter, a lefthanded batter, will bat lead off for the Cardinals, and after that it's all right in every spot.
