ALVA — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an 8-year-old boy has died after a crash in Woods County.
Authorities say the wreck happened Friday night on a county road south of U.S. 64 in Woods County. A preliminary report says Kaden Johnson of Wewoka was a passenger in a truck that went off the road as the driver, 29-year-old Derek Johnson, tried to pass another vehicle.
Authorities say the second vehicle swerved but still collided with the truck, which went off the road and flipped over twice. Authorities say both Kaden and the driver were ejected from the vehicle.
The highway patrol says Kaden died Saturday at OU Medical Center. Derek Johnson is in critical condition at the hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
