A young boy was killed Saturday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle driven by his father at a campsite at Spencer Creek Cove on Oologah Lake, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The boy, whose name and age were not released, was killed about 2:51 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Eric Muskrat Jr., 23, of Claremore struck his son as it was backing out of the campsite, about 5 miles southwest of Chelsea.

The OHP report states Muskrat failed to see the boy and struck him with the rear of the 1998 Ford Expedition he was driving.
