For all the flashy drives to the basket and long-range 3-pointers Douglass point guard Stephen Clark has made in his career, he made history with a free throw.
When he hit a shot from the line midway through the third quarter, Clark became the eighth boys basketball player in state history to score 3,000 career points, making for a special senior night at Douglass on Friday.
Clark finished with 19 points, as did teammate DeAngelo Smith, in an 80-66 win over Northeast.
“It means a lot, just another stepping stone for what I've done in my career at Douglass, and hopefully I can continue it at Oklahoma State next year,” Clark said.
Clark made five 3-pointers, Smith hit four, and Deondre Clark added 15 points inside as Class 4A No. 2 Douglass improved to 19-3.
The Trojans built their lead to 20 points in the fourth quarter. Northeast, ranked No. 1 in 2A, fought back within 10, but couldn't close the gap any farther. Northeast was led by Deshawn Watson with 18 points.
Douglass closes the regular season at Northwest Classen on Tuesday before heading into the playoffs next week, when it will begin the quest for a fourth straight championship.

COOPER HELPS CAPITOL HILL SEAL WIN
Junior Ryan Cooper scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as Capitol Hill pulled away for a 68-54 win over Northwest Classen.
Three other Capitol Hill players scored in double-figures as the Redskins improved to 10-8.
Northwest got a game-high 23 points from Fre-Darion Ashley.
BOMBERS WIN 21ST GAME
Class 6A No. 1 Midwest City exploded out of the gate on its way to an 80-43 win over Westmoore to improve to 21-0.
Midwest City jumped to a 20-6 lead after one quarter, then poured it on in the second half.
Daryck Jones powered the Bombers with a game-high 26 points. Westmoore got 17 from Tripp Fuller.
SOPHOMORES POWER SANTA FE
A trio of sophomores were among four double-figure scorers in Edmond Santa Fe's 76-67 win over Putnam City North.
Sophomores Curran Scott (25 points), Daron Mims (17) and DaQuan Jefferies (10) powered the Wolves, while senior Kade Jacobs added 15.
PC North was led by T.J. Jones with 23 points, while Alex Clark had 18 and John Robert Simon added 14.
JOHN MARSHALL NIPS MILLWOOD
A potential game-tying shot by Millwood rolled off the rim in the closing seconds to give John Marshall a much-needed 49-47 win.
John Marshall was led by Tyler Harrison with 14 points, while Devion Smith had 13. Mike Mayes scored 18 for Millwood.
DALE WINS TOP-10 SHOWDOWN
In a matchup of Class 2A top-10 powers, No. 5 Dale nipped No. 10 Wewoka 56-49.
Dale was led by Evan Anderson and Jace Watkins, who scored 21 points apiece.
Edmond North's Carlbe Ervin scored 29 points in a 67-63 win over Choctaw, which got 22 points from Tyler Lester ... Javeion Gray scored 26 for Carl Albert in a 59-50 win at Shawnee. ... Cameron Peters' 19 points led Piedmont to a 55-49 win over Western Heights ... Carson Teel had 17 points in Stillwater's 50-47 win over Ponca City ... Cashion held off Oklahoma Christian Academy 54-40 in a Class A district elimination game. ...
