Putnam City spent most of the night playing from behind, but a Richmarr Smith layup put the ninth-ranked Pirates ahead in the final minute and they held on for a 55-53 win over No. 13 Putnam City West Tuesday night.

Smith scored eight of his 10 points in the second half to key the Pirates' rally from as many as 10 points down.

Ronnie Boyce had a game-high 18 points for the Pirates, while David Bush added 15 and Orlando Goldsmith had 10 in PC's sixth straight win.

“We're feeling a lot of momentum,” Smith said. “We've been working hard in practice and coach (A.D.) Burtschi is driving us to get that gold ball.”

Tavionne Pennon led PC West with 14 points and Omega Harris had 11, all in the first half.

WESTMOORE SURVIVES IN OT

Westmoore's Tripp Fuller was perfect at the free throw line to key the Jaguars' 64-58 overtime victory against Norman.

Fuller had six of the Jags' 10 overtime points, all at the free-throw line, and 11 of his 13 total points came on free throws as well. Trey Ayala led Westmoore with 15 points.

Norman's Rico Hogan had a game-high 19 points. His 3-pointer with three seconds remaining in regulation sent the game to overtime. Conner Madole added 13 and George Kittle had 10 for Norman.
