Boys high school basketball: Midwest City escapes PC West in overtime

Eight different players scored in the fourth quarter and overtime for the Bombers.

Peters had 12 of his 19 points in the first half as Piedmont built a 36-22 halftime lead. Adrion Williams added 15 points for the Wildcats, who will face Millwood at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the championship game.

“Cameron needs to dig in the trenches and try to dominate both ends, which he's capable of doing with his skill set,” Piedmont coach Ryan Wagner said. “Offensively, he's doing a great job.”

Millwood advanced with a 51-46 win over Tecumseh behind 18 points from Mike Mays.


Four Edmond North players scored in double-figures as the Huskies moved into the finals of the McGuinness Classic with a 64-61 win over Norman North.

David Montgomery led the Huskies with 16 points, while Tyler Sanders added 15, Carlbe Ervin had 14 and Austin Usery had 11.


Flexing its defensive muscle, defending Class 5A champion Bishop McGuinness earned a championship spot in its own tournament with a 62-26 win over Guthrie.

The third-ranked Irish have allowed only 47 points in two games at the McGuinness Classic. Stephen Amalong led all scorers with 19 points for the Irish Friday.

McGuinness and Edmond Memorial will face off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for the title.


One night after knocking off Class 4A No. 4 Anadarko, the OKC Storm advanced to the finals of the Anadarko Tournament with an 84-62 win over Noble, behind 28 points from Chauncey Collins and 25 from Kole Talbott. ... Dale advanced to the finals of the Konawa Tournament with a 54-48 win over Lexington, getting 32 points from Evan Anderson. ... Heritage Hall's Tanner Tepe scored 29 points to lead the Chargers into the finals of Bethel's CD Warehouse Classic with a 63-50 win over Seminole.
