“We knew we had to get this win,” Norman North's Marcus Dickinson said. “We were a little rusty the first time we played them, but we all gave a commitment to playing at a higher level and that paid off tonight.”

Norman had plenty of chances in the final minute to tie it as the Timberwolves missed the front end of a pair of one-and-ones in the last 20 seconds of regulation.

But the Tigers couldn't take advantage and Norman North closed out the regular season with the win.

“It was too tight there at the end with us not hitting our free throws, but as long as we got the win, that's all that matters,” Dickinson said.

Dickinson, one of those freshmen, finished with a game-high 15 points. Junior Kairo Rutledge had 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Norman had four players in double figures — Sam Blodgett (14), Cooper Clark (13), Jay Finley (10) and Daniel Harper (10) — but only got two points from the rest of its roster.

RANEY'S SHOT SAVES CASHION

Cashion kept its season alive thanks to freshman point guard Vaughn Raney's 27-foot 3-pointer with one second to play in double-overtime that gave the Wildcats a 56-55 win over Okeene in a Class A regional elimination game.

Raney finished with a game-high 15 points.
