Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe assigned to call Sugar Bowl for ESPN

The trio has not called an OU game this season

ESPN's veteran broadcast crew of Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe have been assigned to broadcast the Sugar Bowl at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 2 matching Oklahoma and Alabama.

It will be the first time the trio has called a Sooner game this season. The crew called the OU-Texas game last year and the OU-Texas Tech and Bedlam games in 2011.

Other BCS bowl assignments announced by ESPN:

*BCS national championship, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 6, Florida State vs. Auburn: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Heather Cox and Tom Rinaldi.

*Rose Bowl, 4 p.m., Jan. 1, Stanford vs. No. 4 Michigan State: Musburger, Herbstreit and Heather Cox

*Fiesta Bowl, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 1, UCF vs. Baylor: Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman and Shannon Spake.

*Orange Bowl, 7:30 p.m., Jan. 3, Clemson vs. Ohio State: Joe Tessitore, Matt Millen and Maria Taylor.
