Brad Peacock picked up the win in his first Triple-A start since being sent down by the Houston Astros, and the Oklahoma City RedHawks beat Round Rock 7-3 in Round Rock, Texas, on Tuesday night.
Peacock (1-0) allowed seven hits and three runs in 52/3 innings. He struck out five in the opener of a four-game series. Three RedHawks relievers combined to shut out the Express the rest of the way.
Domingo Santana went 4 for 4 with two RBIs to pace the OKC offense. Matt Duffy also drove in two runs.
Express starter Justin Germano (4-11) took the loss, allowing 11 hits and four runs in 61/3 innings. Brent Lillibridge hit a two-run homer for the Express.
The series continues at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. Right-hander Asher Wojciechowski (0-3, 6.55 ERA) will start for the RedHawks.
