GATORS NAME COORDINATOR
Florida coach Urban Meyer made a move for continuity with the Gators offense, naming Steve Addazio as new offensive coordinator.
Addazio will replace Dan Mullen, who will assume the head coaching job at Mississippi State after the bowl game. Mullen is still expected to call plays when the Gators and Sooners meet.
"Steve has played a key role in our offense in his time at Florida,” Meyer said.
"We will run the same type of offense. We will continue to put the ball in the hands of our best players, spread the field and try to take advantage of the best matchups.”
Addazio has worked with Meyer six years, two at Notre Dame and the past four at Florida.
FAMILIAR GROUND
Florida owns a home state, if not home field advantage for the BCS title game, with the game set for Miami.
For several Gators, there will even be a familiar feel about Dolphin Stadium.
Florida counts 13 players who have won high school state championships at Dolphin Stadium. Among them, nine played in the 2006 Class 5A title game pitting Lakeland and St. Thomas Aquinas, which turned out to be a two-overtime classic won by Lakeland.

BTW, this is starting to feel like the Penn State game in 87. I spent a week in Miami listening to those idiots spew how great they were up until the 4th quarter. They stopped their "We are - Penn St" cheer when we started the "We are - National Champs" cheer!
On, brave old Flor-i-da, and we will cheer you on your play! Rah! Rah! Rah!…
And as you march a-long, we'll sing our victory song anew…
With all your might Go on and Fight Gators Fight for Dixie's rightly proud of you…
(Chorus)
So give a cheer for the Orange and Blue, Waving for-ev-er, forever…
Pride of old Flor-i-da, May she droop nev-er…
We'll sing a song for the flag to-day, Cheer for the team at play! On to the goal we'll fight our way for Flor-i-da."
