Branan to run for Oklahoma Corporation Commission

State Sen. Cliff Branan, R-Oklahoma City, announced Monday that he will be a candidate for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

State Senator Cliff Branan announced Monday that he will be a candidate for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.

“What’s good for the energy industry is good for Oklahoma,” said Branan, R-Oklahoma City, who currently serves as chairman of the state Senate Energy, Telecommunications and Environment Committee.

Branan said promoting economic development and jobs would be his top priorities as corporation commissioner.

Branan said co-chairs of his campaign include Larry Nichols, executive chairman of Devon Energy Corp.; Greg Love, president of Love’s development companies,; Brian Bingman, president pro tem of the state Senate; and Harold Hamm, chief executive officer of Continental Resources.
