OU vs. Connecticut

When: 7:30 p.m., Jan. 1

Where: Glendale, Ariz. (University of Phoenix Stadium)

TV: ESPN (Cox 29)

Radio: 107.7 KRXO-FM, KOKC-AM 1520

Campus location: Storrs, Conn.

Enrollment: 26,000.

Conference: Big East

Record: 8-4, 5-2 Big East

Best player: Jordan Todman (1,574 yards rushing) was a Doak Walker semifinalist. Some felt Todman should have been among the final three candidates.

Last game: Dave Teggart kicked a career-long 52-yard field goal with 17 seconds left to lift the Huskies to a 19-16 win over South Florida, allowing UConn finish as co-champions of the Big East.

Why they could win: UConn is riding a five-game winning streak with wins over West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Cincinnati. The Sooners will have a difficult time getting motivated for the Huskies, who have a lot to play for since everyone says they don't deserve a BCS Bowl.

Why they could lose: The Sooners could dominate. UConn has played better late in the season but losses to Rutgers, Louisville, Michigan and Temple are proof this could be the worst BCS bowl team ever.
