Accountability comes into play with Harris, USA Today polls

Now that the votes are in and with accountability, here are some that stand out in the USA Today coaches’ and Harris polls:
→Go Big 12: Colorado’s Dan Hawkins, Nebraska’s Bo Pelini, Missouri’s Gary Pinkel and Iowa State’s Gene Chizek all ranked Oklahoma and Texas in the top two, hoping to set up an All-Big 12 national championship game. The aforementioned had OU at No. 1 and Texas at No. 2, except for Chizek who had the two reversed. Texas Tech’s Mike Leach had OU at No. 1, his team at No. 2 and Texas at No. 5. Baylor’s Art Briles had OU at No. 1 and Texas at No. 5. The only Big 12 coach not to rank a conference team at No.
