Musburger, who splits time between homes in Montana and South Florida, has been a network sportscaster since 1975. He discussed the game, which will go to 81 percent of the nation, and other topics in a telephone conversation this week.

What are your impressions of the game?

I think it will be a very interesting game regardless of whether or not Sam Bradford can play. If it blows open either way, it will blow open in favor of Oklahoma. They have one matchup advantage, which served Virginia Tech very, very well. That is the defensive line vs. the Hurricanes’ offensive line. I know the Hokies are very tough at home and they were obviously fired up. But in watching highlights of that game, they really beat on the Hurricanes’ offensive line. I rate the OU defensive line even better than that. Miami had better come to play against that front or it could be a long evening for Jacory Harris. ... The advantage to the Canes, and I know that (Miami) Northwestern High School group pretty well because I live in South Florida in the winter, they have recruited a ton of speed and they can show it all over the field.
