The national Harley Owners Group rally will take over Bricktown June 26 and 27, shutting down streets to accommodate the thousands of motorcycles coming to town. The free event is open to both Club H.O.G. members and the general public, with motorcycle parking provided throughout the closed Bricktown streets.

Currently, more than 4,000 H.O.G. members have registered for the event, said Laura Kriegel, director of marketing and communications for the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Including nonmembers, more than 10,000 attendees are expected, said Chris Clifton, promotions and marketing director for Brewer Entertainment, the exclusive vendor for the event.

Downtown to be busting at the seams
Oklahoma City landed the national event by providing the options that H.O.G. members sought, including ample motorcycle parking and free live music, said Jim Cowan, director of the Bricktown Association.

"This is the atmosphere they want,” Cowan said.

In addition, more than 200,000 H.O.G. members live within a 500-mile radius of Oklahoma City, making it a strong central location, Kriegel said.
