Brutally hot temperatures in Oklahoma Friday

A brutally hot day is ahead Friday in Oklahoma.

Most of the state is under a heat advisory, the National Weather Service reports. The Tulsa area is under an excessive heat advisory. Only the Panhandle is not under a heat or excessive heat advisory Friday.

Just before 6 a.m. Friday, before sunrise, the temperature was already in the mid-80s in central Oklahoma. The high temperature in Oklahoma City Friday will be near 106 degrees.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 106. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 74. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 104. East, northeast wind 7 to 11 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 74. East wind 5 to 13 mph.

Sunday: Sunny and hot with a high near 105. East wind 5 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 75.

Monday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 102.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 74.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 101.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 75.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 100.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 75.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
