The fast food chain, which has more than 500 UK outlets, first released a series of ‘absolute assurances’ that its products were not involved in the horse meat scare. But new tests reveal this was incorrect, according to The Daily Mail.
On Thursday night, the test results at the plant revealed “very small trace levels” of horse DNA in its products, according to The Guardian.
The company has since moved production from the Silvercrest plant in Ireland to Germany and Italy as a precaution. Ireland, the UK and Poland are continuing their investigations of the food contamination.
