SYDNEY (AP) — Newcastle winger Nathan Burns' second goal of the match in the 67th minute gave the Jets a 2-1 win over the Melbourne Victory in Australia's A-League on Sunday.

Burns gave the Jets the lead just before halftime, but James Troisi leveled for the Victory in the 50th minute.

Earlier in the round, Brisbane striker Besart Berisha scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Adelaide United to help the Roar increase their first-place lead.

The second-place Western Sydney Wanderers drew 1-1 with the Melbourne Heart and fell five points behind the Roar. Sydney FC, playing without former Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero, who has a sore hamstring, lost 1-0 to the Central Coast Mariners.

Perth stayed in the middle of the standings with a 4-2 win over the Wellington Phoenix.
