Bus loads of unaccompanied immigrant minors began arriving at Ft. Sill in Lawton early Friday morning.

Shielding their faces from the sun as they pulled into the front gates, many of the children appeared to be teenagers. One young man removed a pair of bright white headphones as he peered out towards the sprawling base that will be his home for the foreseeable future.

Buses began arriving around 3 a.m., according to one Ft. Sill police officer. The base is expected to house 600 to 1,200 immigrant minors as they are processed through various stages of the deportation process.
