Moore Liquor aided in buying sign
MOORE — A crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a new marquee sign at Moore Liquor raised $1,150 through the website GoFundMe.com and another $57 at the store. Moore Liquor used part of the funds to purchase a new marquee sign after the old one was destroyed by high winds during a thunderstorm in August. Moore Liquor is giving the remaining $707 in funds it raised to the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank. The money will go toward the food bank’s Food for Kids Backpack Program to help feed hungry children at Moore Public Schools.
Yogurt company helps charity
Oklahoma City-based Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt has partnered in September with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry to raise awareness and funding to help end childhood hunger. This month, more than 300 Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt locations across the country will sell limited-edition, 16-ounce collectible cups for $1. All proceeds will benefit No Kid Hungry. In addition, Orange Leaf will host a donation page on its website for No Kid Hungry. Select Orange Leaf locations will participate in Dine Out for No Kid Hungry week, Sept. 22-28 and also will offer a new Orange Strawberry Banana Smoothie made with Orange Dole Soft Serve. For each Orange Leaf customer who buys a Share Our Strength cup from Sept. 8-12, Dole Soft Serve will match the donation, up to $5,000. For each Twitter follower that re-tweets a message with the hashtag #enditwithorange on Sept. 20, Dole Soft Serve will donate $1 per tweet, up to $5,000.
