Former Cache standout Taylor Thompson became the 20th player in Fresno State history to score 1,000 career points with 19 points in the Bulldogs’ 60-50 win Saturday against Colorado State.

Thompson, a member of The Oklahoman’s Super Five in 2009, has been Fresno State’s leading scorer this season, averaging 13.3 points per game.

“Anytime you get something like that, it’s a great honor, because this is a great school with great players that came through,” Thompson told the Fresno Bee. “I’ll do whatever is best for our team. And I think me scoring more is best for our team. I’m used to facilitating a little more. But I like it.”

She also ranks fourth all-time at Fresno State with 403 career assists and was recently invited to the ProHoops Combine, a combine for the WNBA and professional leagues overseas.
