EDMOND — Political activism may have gone too far when a city building was found vandalized with a political statement this week.

Police were called about 7:45 a.m. Thursday to the Edmond Planning Building, 10 S Littler, on reports of vandalism.
There, police found a spray-painted message on the northeast side of the building. Stenciled in red and blue paint was a political slogan and a Web site address, according to police reports.
Building services director Ed Steiner told police he thought the vandalism occurred between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7:20 a.m. Thursday.
"The Constitution protects freedom of speech, but not vandalism,” police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said. "We're glad people want to support their candidates, but this is not an appropriate venue.”
