Candlelight vigil for slain Tulsa teen draws crowd

On a bridge pillar near where more than 150 people gathered Thursday night to hold candles in memory of Jeremey Lake was a partially finished tribute for the victim of Tuesday night’s homicide.

“RIP Jere” stood out in black spray paint, almost as if the crude memorial symbolized the life cut short by gunfire.

A candlelight vigil in the 19-year-old’s memory took place near an Inner Dispersal Loop overpass adjacent to Lake’s home in the 200 block of North Maybelle Avenue just northwest of downtown.
