PILOTS GET DEBT RELIEF

A multistate agreement with Student Loan Express includes partial loan forgiveness for more than 60 Oklahoma student pilots, Attorney General Drew Edmondson said Tuesday. Edmondson and the attorneys general from 11 other states reached a $112.7 million agreement with student loan originator Student Loan Express that includes significant debt forgiveness. The company provided loans to students at flight schools run by now-defunct Silver State Helicopters. Sixty-one state students are eligible to receive some level of forgiveness, totaling about $3 million.

TWO TULSA JUDGES NAMED
Gov. Brad Henry made two appointments Tuesday to the 14th Judicial District in Tulsa County. He appointed Carlos Chappelle, 58, to Office 6 and Kurt G. Glassco, 54, to Office 14. Chappelle succeeds Judge Gordon McAllister, while Glassco succeeds Judge Michael Gassett. McAllister and Gassett retired.

PUSHMATAHA JUDGE SET
Gov. Brad Henry on Tuesday appointed Jana Kay Wallace as associate district judge for Pushmataha County. She will succeed Lowell Burgess, Jr., who has retired.
