Caps recall Holtby from minors, start him vs. SJ
WASHINGTON (AP) — Goalie Braden Holtby has been recalled by the Washington Capitals from Hershey of the American Hockey League so he could start against the San Jose Sharks.
The Capitals announced the call-up about 1½ hours before Monday night's game against San Jose, then later listed Holtby in the lineup. It's his first NHL appearance since March 26 last season.
