Cardinals sign Pat Neshek to minor league deal

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Reliever Pat Neshek and the St. Louis Cardinals have agreed on a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training.

The Cardinals announced the deal Thursday.

The right-hander was 2-1 with a 3.35 ERA in 45 appearances for Oakland last season.

In parts of seven seasons with Minnesota, San Diego and Oakland, Neshek is 16-9 with a 3.07 ERA in 226 games. He has 216 strikeouts in 214 1-3 innings.
