Cardiologist and Boston Sci exec Baim dies at 60

NATICK, Massachusetts (AP) — The family of renowned cardiologist and medical device executive Dr. Donald Baim says he has died following surgery to treat a form of cancer. He was 60.
The family's statement said Baim died Friday and that he had undergone recent surgery to remove diseased tissue caused by adrenal cancer, a rare form of the disease that attacks the adrenal glands.
Baim, a former Harvard professor, most recently served as chief medical officer for Boston Scientific Corp., a manufacturer of pacemakers, defibrillators and other medical implants. He joined the company in 2006.
Previously, he was a professor at Harvard Medical School, where he establish a leading program for training interventional cardiologists.
