Cardozo scores 2 as Benfica beats Nacional

LISBON (AP) — Oscar Cardozo scored twice to lead Benfica to a 3-0 win over visiting Nacional in the Portuguese league on Sunday.

The Paraguay forward opened the scoring for Benfica in the 51st minute.

Rodrigo Moreno headed in Eduardo Salvio's pass to double the lead five minutes later, and Cardozo added a third with a left-footed shot in the 89th.

Benfica's second win lifted it ahead of FC Porto in the league standings on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Braga lost 2-0 at Pacos Ferreira.

Also on Sunday, it was: Beira Mar 1, Moreirense 1; Gil Vicente 0, Setubal 0; and Rio Ave 0, Academica 0.
