The Oklahoman and JobsOK.com will hold a career fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the State Fairgrounds.
The event will be in Expo Hall Building No. 3 and feature 57 hiring companies, including those from the telecommunications, retail, insurance, health care, trucking, financial and oil and gas industries.
Representatives from several colleges and universities also will be available to discuss training to help applicants become more competitive in the job market.
“This is an excellent way for individuals looking for jobs to make sure their resume is getting seen and that they are increasing their changes of landing that right job,” said Dee McCants, recruitment manager for The Oklahoman. “Many individuals have sent out many resumes to companies only to end up not knowing whether the right person looked at their qualifications.”
Participants in the career fair should dress for interviews, bring many copies of their resumes and prepare three brief talking points about their job experiences and what makes them the right person for the job opening.
