Country Weekly magazine is celebrating “Girl Power” on the cover of its July 14 issue, on sale now.
The cover features Checotah native Carrie Underwood and Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert, who have the hottest record going right now with their fiery duet, “Somethin’ Bad,” already looking like an award winner. The success is particularly notable given the bro-country trend, which has led to men dominating the country charts lately.
In the special cover section, the magazine looks at the amazingly similar careers of Carrie and Miranda—their rises to fame, personal lives, current successes and artistic images.
“Somethin’ Bad” is featured on the top of the current Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Streaming Songs charts, plus Lambert’s “Platinum,” the album that includes the duet, is atop the Top Country Albums chart.
