Carrie Underwood practices art of the quick change in concert

Checotah native Carrie Underwood is bringing her “Blown Away Tour” to her home state Thursday at Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena and Nov. 21 to Tulsa's BOK Center.

“Basically, there's four acts and an encore, so I wear five outfits during the evening,” said the singer-songwriter, who also will play Nov. 21 at Tulsa's BOK Center.

Like her hits, her concert costumes range from sassy to sweeping. No matter the outfit, though, she won't be getting into it alone.

“The secret to a great quick change is multiple people. It is chaos underneath that stage,” she said with a laugh. “There's so many pretty things going on on the stage ... that help tell our story throughout the entire show. But it's pretty chaotic underneath the stage. There's clothes flying everywhere, and one person's zipping and the other person's putting on shoes, and I'm trying to figure out if I look OK. It's crazy.”

It's also no time to worry about modesty, as Underwood added, “They see a lot of me.”
