Fashion expert Carson Kressley may love his clothes and accessories, but that doesn't mean he's oblivious to the sometimes sky-high price tags accompanying them. "I had done so many makeover shows and I was always coming back to these same silhouettes but they were harder and harder to find and when we did find them, they were always in the more expensive stores," he told Parade.com.

This shopping plight of the every day woman is the driving force behind his new clothing line Love, Carson for ShopNBC (check it out here!). "I kept thinking how great it would be if someone made those clothes at a price anyone could really afford so I made a mental catalogue of these pieces and when ShopNBC came to me and asked if I had any ideas for a line, I did!" he said. "It really was that old adage of necessity is the mother of invention. I wanted to fill that need."

Kressley describes the line as "easy, instant, affordable glamour" with pieces that feel transformative but don't break the bank. As for his the most common fashion mistake people make? "The one I see often deals with size," he says. "A lot of times people are wearing sizes that are too large to camouflage things or too small and tight in order to be sexier."

Kressley kindly took a look at a photo PARADE reader Cynthia S. sent in and gave his tips on what items from his line might work the best for her:

1. "The biggest trend right now is colors," Kressley says, who focused on this orange cardigan and hot fuchsia maxi dress. "Last year we would have paired this with a black shrug but this year, we went with another bright. It's about mixing it in a new way."

2. Kressley also says this look is practical for someone like Cynthia, who is an active, on-the-go woman with two sons. "It has to be comfortable and easy," he says. "When you put on a maxi dress, you're kind of done. You're ready to go."

3. He also adds that the dress will help streamline Cynthia's silhouette. "This will help you feel more like a tall, skinny goddess," he adds. "It's got the length and vertical ruching. All of the tricks that make it transformative." Since Cynthia loves the height of heels but admits they're not the most functional choice for her life, Kressley came up with a nice option: "Pair it with a nice chunky wedge. It's a tailored look but in an easy way."

4. The look will also keep Cynthia in the fabrics akin to her workout wear. "It feels soft and cuddly," he says. "You might want to travel around in exercise pants but this is as comfortable but looks sophisticated and pulled together."
