Cat show planned for Oct. 20-21

From the exotic Bengals and cute Highlanders to the magnificant Maine Coons, more than 100 cats and kittens will compete for prizes Oct. 2021 at The International Cat Association, Inc. (TICA) second annual championship and household pet cat show in Oklahoma City.

Hosted by the Red River Rascals Cat Club, the show will be held at the OKC Animal Resource Center, 7949 S Interstate 35 Service Road: exit east off Shields on I-240 Service road and follow until it turns south to I-35 Service Road.

Pedigreed cats and kittens will compete in Championship, Kitten or Alter divisions. Household pets and household pet kittens will compete in their own divisions. Breeds that will be represented include Pixiebobs, Bengal, Maine Coon, Turkish Van, Bombay, Birman, Sphynx, Munchkin, Abyssianian, British Shorthair, Norwegian Forest Cat, Oriental Shorthair, Bombay, Scottish Fold, and more.

Cats from USA and Mexico. will also compete in a Cat Agility Fun Ring. Preston Smith Photography of Cat Fancy fame will be available to take photos of cats. Visit him on facebook for an appointment

Hands Helping Paws of Norman and the Fort Worth Rescue will have kittens and cats available for adoption.

Some exhibitors will have pedigreed kittens for sale. Vendors at the show will feature a variety of cat toys, supplies and cat related items PLUS many things for people as well.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 20 Sunday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors 65 and above, veterans and children under 12. Children 5 and under are free.
