BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Celtics are ready to introduce former Butler coach Brad Stevens as the NBA team's new coach.

Stevens, his wife, Tracy, and their two children will join Celtics officials at a Friday morning news conference at the Celtics Training Center.

The Celtics announced Wednesday that it had hired the 36-year-old Stevens as the team's next coach. He replaces Doc Rivers, who was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Stevens has led the Bulldogs to the NCAA title game twice, but has no NBA experience as a player or coach. He had been courted by Illinois and UCLA, among others.
