CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Lamar came from behind to tie Central Arkansas and went on to beat the Bears in a one-hole team playoff to win the 2012 Southland Conference men's golf championship in McKinney, Texas.
The Bears and the Cardinals were tied at 890 after three rounds after Lamar rallied from seven strokes down after two rounds on Wednesday. M.J. Daffue shot a final-round 70 to help Lamar close the gap and win the individual title.
David Morago had Central Arkansas' top score with an even-par 72 and tied for 13th overall with rounds of 79-75-72 for a 226. Antonio Costa shot a final-round 76 and finished at 219 for second place, three shots behind Daffue.
Texas-Arlington finished third, followed by Stephen F. Austin and Texas State.
