→Scouting report: If there was ever a play that represents this year’s Oklahoma City Blazers team, it happened Wednesday night in the second period.

Oklahoma City’s Bill Vandermeer was dropped by an Amarillo player away from the puck, and center Brian Passmore skated from the other side of the ice to stand up for his teammate.

It’s one thing to have the talent. But it’s a totally different thing to have a talented team that respects and enjoys playing with each other.

"The guys like being together, and I like being with them,” coach Doug Sauter said. "This is a great chemistry.”

Even without starting goaltender Andy Franck, out with an injury, Oklahoma City has not missed a beat. Goaltender Doug Groenestege has won all four of his starts and was less than four minutes from recording his first shutout of the season Wednesday.

Texas is coming off a shootout win against Bossier-Shreveport and is in first place in the Southeast Division. Oklahoma City has defeated Texas twice this season. Texas has three guys with at least 16 points.
