The Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association presented its third annual Caliber Award Tuesday to Steve Allen of Allenton Custom Homes during the annual Parade of Homes.

The parade continues through Sunday with 120 new houses open free for public viewing from 1 to 7 p.m. daily.

The Caliber Award goes to the builder who most uses associate members during the bidding and building process, recognizing their importance to the association and to the central Oklahoma economy.

“On every project, Steve goes above and beyond to involve the association,” said Kathy Holman, administrative manager and program director for the builders group.

“Steve has helped the community by building the 2012 House of Hope home, exemplifying our motto of doing business with members and being a leader in the industry and community. This is why Steve is the 2012 Caliber Award winner,” Holman said.

The House of Hope is a home specially constructed as a fundraiser that allows the builders' foundation to donate to children's charities.

“I am very honored to be the 2012 Caliber Award recipient. Doing business within the association is so important and only helps us grow as an organization,” Allen said.
