EDMOND - The Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce is continuing its search for a new president.

Chairman Darren Helm recently told board members that the job has been officially posted and he's received about nine resumes.

The position was vacated April 21 when then-President Hardy Watkins took over as executive director of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission.

Watkins held the position of chamber president for just eight months, coming from a three-year stint at the state Tourism Department.

Wanda Cantrell is currently filling in as interim president while the search continues for a permanent replacement. Cantrell was executive director of the chamber from 1991 to 2000.
