e chamber moved into the Harold C. Brand Building, its current location at 123 Park Ave., in 1994.
The chamber hopes to have the new building, spanning about 50,000 square feet, open by 2010.
Plans call for the new building to be downtown at the southeast corner of NW 4 and Broadway on land partially controlled by the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority. The rest of the property is being donated by the Oklahoma Publishing Co. to the chamber.
“My father wanted to see this important space used for a signature project,” said Christy Gaylord Everest. “His involvement and enthusiasm throughout his life for the work of the Chamber makes this project a perfect fit.”
