There is a slight chance for rain Friday in central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

The weekend should be a sunny one.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: A slight chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 57. Northeast wind 10 to 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 38. North, northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 69. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south, southwest in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Clear with a low around 45. South, southeast wind 8 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 77. South wind 15 to 23 mph with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy with a low around 56.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 79.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 47.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 70.

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy with a low around 57.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 78.
