Charges filed against Oklahoma City man who told Dr. Phil he assaulted girlfriend

Timothy D. Cruz, 25, faces seven counts of domestic abuse; ex-couple's child removed from home by the Oklahoma DHS after episode aired, mother says on website.

Cruz, through his attorney, said the charges and the woman's motive for going to police are suspect because of the timing.

The Department of Human Services took the ex-couple's child into protective custody on Nov. 16, 2012, “because of domestic abuse her father inflicted on me with her in the home,” Roberts posted on a website she created to raise money to hire an attorney to help her get her daughter back.
