TULSA -- Prosecutors have charged a man with first-degree murder in the April 2005 shooting death of a man outside a Tulsa apartment complex.

Martin Sanchez, 36, is accused of shooting Manuel Paredez, 36, with a semiautomatic handgun while Paredez was working on a car.

Sanchez was not in custody Friday, and detectives think he might have left the area, Tulsa police Sgt. Mike Huff said. Police will be working with federal agents to locate Sanchez, he said.

The charge describes Sanchez as white or Hispanic. He is about 5-feet-6 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.
