FARGO, N.D. — Charges of murder, robbery, burglary and theft were filed this afternoon against an Oklahoma man in the death of Fargo, N.D. dentist Philip Gattuso, a former Oklahoma resident.
Court documents filed in Cass County District Court in Fargo allege Michael Allen Nakvinda, 41, used a hammer or other dangerous weapon to kill Gattuso on Oct. 26 in Fargo.
Nakvinda, who appeared in Oklahoma County District Court this morning, waived extradition to North Dakota to face the charges. Authorities arrested Nakvinda early Saturday morning in Oklahoma City and searched his home.
Police recovered Gattuso's car in a storage building at 3701 S Eastern Ave., said Jessica Brown, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman.
Gattuso, 49, was found dead in his Fargo condominium. Fargo police are investigating the case.
The charges allege Nakvinda stole Gattuso's Porsche by using a trailer to steal it and electronic equipment from the condominium.
Authorities said Gattuso died of a head injury.
The charges do not state whether the victim knew the defendant.
