“Oh hell no” were the last words Shirley Burris said before she was gunned down at the doorway of her Midwest City home in a botched robbery attempt, court documents show.
Burris, 39, answered a knock at the door of 10002 Caton Place early Saturday and uttered those words before two shots were fired as she shut the door. She leaned against the door momentarily before walking down the hall where she collapsed and died, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Her boyfriend, Kelvin Murray, was the intended robbery target and the six planned to divvy up cash and marijuana from the heist, according to the affidavit.
Charges of murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony are sought against Ashlee Rene Craig, 17; Jarvis Jones, 19; DeMarkus Long, 19; Justin Woody, 19; Aron Gaines, 19; and Ravan Craig, 19.
Sunday, a juvenile witness and her parents contacted the police department. The witness said her friend, Ashlee Craig, had confided in her that she was involved.
