Charity organization plans special centennial Mass in Oklahoma City

A special Mass commemorating the centennial of Catholic Charities, an affiliate of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, will be Sunday at Our Lady's Cathedral, 3214 N Lake.

Catholic Charities, an affiliate of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, will conclude its yearlong centennial commemoration with a special Mass set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady's Cathedral, 3214 N Lake.

The public is invited to attend the Mass and a reception that will be held afterward. The Most Rev. Paul S. Coakley, archbishop of Oklahoma City, will be the principal celebrant. He will be assisted by the Most Rev. Eusebius Beltran, archbishop emeritus, and more than 30 priests from the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.

Catholic Charities is a major private provider of social services to children, families and individuals in Oklahoma, working alongside public and private organizations to help meet the basic needs of those who have the least. In addition to its direct services, Catholic Charities advocates at the local and state levels for public policy that promotes the common good on behalf of those whose voices are not heard.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early in order to be seated.
