Lauren Winslow had high expectations for the Small West team at the All-State volleyball matches, but a sweep seemed unlikely.

Yet Winslow of Christian Heritage Academy and her West teammates took all three games, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19, Tuesday night at Bixby.

“We thought it was gonna be really hard, because the girls on the East team were really good,” said Winslow, who earned Most Valuable Player honors for the match. “We expected it to be neck-and-neck. so it was really fun.”

After winning the first game, the West fell behind 21-20 late in the second, but closed it out by scoring five of the final six points.

Not only did Winslow get to play one final match with CHA teammate Elizabeth Tracy, she was joined by several familiar faces in her final high school match.

“It was a lot of fun, because almost everyone on my team I had played with in club or on other things, so it was fun getting to play with everyone one last time,” she said.
