A chase involving Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers ended when a car crashed into a parked rail car this morning in southeast Oklahoma City, officials said.
The chase began on Interstate 35, and the car left the freeway and crashed into the train near SE 89 and Pole Road about 6 a.m., a patrol report states. The driver got out and ran away into a nearby field.
An Oklahoma City fire dispatcher said a small fire started after the crash and was quickly brought under control, but further details were not immediately available.
Troopers and Oklahoma City police were on the scene this morning looking for the driver, police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said. A helicopter, dogs and officers on the ground had not found anyone as of about 7:45 a.m.
