The Oklahoman's Diana Baldwin chatted with readers Thursday about downtown Edmond roads, restaurants and businesses. Join her chat every third Thursday of the month at 2 p.m. Below is an unedited transcript of the chat.

NewsOK 1:10 p.m. Hey everyone. Diana will be logging on at 2 p.m., but you can start submitting your questions now.
Diana Baldwin 2:02 p.m. Thanks for joining us today. Let's get started.
Kimberly Burk 2:02 p.m. What's the new business going in at the northwest corner of 33rd and Kelly?
Diana Baldwin 2:04 p.m. A new OnCue is being built on the northwest corner of that intersection. The dirt work is underway right now. There will be a drive-thru also. That is right on the Edmond-Oklahoma City line. OnCue was given a large sign to match the one across the street in Oklahoma City. Edmond's codes are more strict than other cities.
Matthew 2:04 p.m. What are the big differences between the Edmond High Schools?
C 2:04 p.m. When will construction begin on Pepperoni Grill?
Diana Baldwin 2:05 p.m. Matthew: Would you mind being more specific? I'm not sure what you are looking for.
Diana Baldwin 2:07 p.m. C: I am surprised that the construction hasn't already started. They have gone through all the city requirements to build a new restaurant.
Matthew 2:07 p.m. Stronger at the arts vs. sports, for example
Diana Baldwin 2:10 p.m. All three schools are always competitive. But Memorial is older so they have more championships in football. I know that the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond works with some students, but they may be younger then high school. A fourth high school is planned in Edmond. The land purchased for the fourth high school is at air depot and covell. The high school would be built on the southeast corner. Heritage Elementary is located on Sorghum Mill between Boulevard and Bryant. It is currently under construction
Chad 2:10 p.m. Where is the Pepperoni Grill going to be located?
Diana Baldwin 2:11 p.m. Pepperoni Grill is going to be at Kelly Avenue and Covell Road.
Cindy D 2:12 p.m. Does anyone know why farmers are now banned from bringing dairy items to the edmond farmers market?
Diana Baldwin 2:13 p.m. I'm not sure about dairy products. I can check on that for next month's Edmond Exchange.
Guest 2:14 p.m. Any updates pertaining to the Covell developments?
Diana Baldwin 2:15 p.m. Sad news is that Crest grocery may not build at Covell and Interstate 35. The city and developers are still working to exchange locations for the hotel and conference center.
Guest 2:16 p.m. Do you know of any plans that Edmond Schools have for redistricting?
Diana Baldwin 2:17 p.m. I am sure they will redistrict the Edmond public schools when the fourth high school is constructed.
Chad 2:17 p.m. Any other restaurant/food chains coming into Edmond?
Diana Baldwin 2:19 p.m. There are plans for a new Wataburger at the Shoppes @ Fox Lake. Did you see the new Del Taco on Second Street? Ken's Pizza is also planned for Kelly Avenue and Danforth. At Covell and I-35, there is a new McDonald's.
guest 2:20 p.m. I noticed some dirt work happening off 2nd street just west of I-35. What are the plans for that?
Diana Baldwin 2:22 p.m. There is a Home 2 Suites planned on the southwest corner. Is that where are talking about?
CD 2:22 p.m. many food trucks no longer coming to Edmond that used to do their rounds between OKC and here, owners say it's because city of edmond "kicked them out"-do you know why?
Diana Baldwin 2:23 p.m. I haven't heard anything about that. But it sounds like a story to me. I will check on that in the next few weeks.
Diana Baldwin 2:24 p.m. Good questions. Keep them coming. We have about 10 more minutes.
Stephanie 2:25 p.m. How many Edmond schools have storm shelters?
Diana Baldwin 2:26 p.m. In Edmond, a total of 7,850 students can be housed in designated storm shelters and 4,100 in below-ground building areas. The school has more than 22,500 students total plus teachers and support personnel. Still more shelters needs.
Guest 2:26 p.m. Are there any other plans in place for the Fox Lake Shoppes, besides the Whataburger you mentioned?
Diana Baldwin 2:28 p.m. There is also a Discount Tire planned for the Shoppes @ Fox Lake.
Guest 2:29 p.m. And that is right off I35 at Sams, right?
Diana Baldwin 2:29 p.m. Yes. That is the location.
guest 2:30 p.m. what progress has been made on the arcadia lake trails?
Diana Baldwin 2:32 p.m. The engineering staff is completing their review of the plans for this project, and then the city will advertise for bids on the first section from I-35 to Spring Creek Park. Once bids are received they will be able to confirm an expected time frame that will target construction to be completed this winter.
Chad 2:32 p.m. Any plans for the vacant BG Boltons buiding on Broadway Ext.?
Diana Baldwin 2:33 p.m. BG Boltons is in Oklahoma City. You would have to ask Reporters Steve Lackmeyer or Bill Crum, they cover Oklahoma City.
Chad 2:35 p.m. Oops. Sorry. Thought that strip was considered Edmond.
Diana Baldwin 2:35 p.m. No problem.
Guest 2:37 p.m. What are the two developments on 2nd street between I-35 and Coltrane. One on the north side and the other on the south. Large lots of cleared land have been sitting idle the past few months.
Diana Baldwin 2:38 p.m. I am working on a story about this development. I should be done with it shortly. Look for it in The Oklahoman and NewsOk.com.
Jake 2:38 p.m. Any news of fuzzys taco shop coming to Edmond?
Diana Baldwin 2:40 p.m. I haven't seen a commercial building permit for it. But that would be a treat if it was coming to Edmond. I will check.
Guest 2:43 p.m. I noticed a rezoning notice across from Covell Corner (Covell and Air Depot) aware of the plans for that? I think it said neighborhood shops?
Diana Baldwin 2:47 p.m. Are you talking about the Hedgerow Shops on the northwest corner of Air Depot and Danforth? Planning commissioners this week planned a 37-acre commercial development.
Diana Baldwin 2:49 p.m. Sorry I didn't get to all your questions. You can email me at dbaldwin@opbuco.com. I'm always looking for a good Edmond story.

Be sure to join us for next month's chat. I host this chat on the third Thursday of each month. Goodbye until next time.
