CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Chattanooga will host 2014 NCAA semifinalist Stanford and eight-time national champion Tennessee as part of its 2014-15 women's basketball schedule.
The Lady Mocs released a schedule Tuesday that includes a Nov. 26 home game with Tennessee and a Dec. 17 home game with Stanford. Chattanooga also has a Nov. 21 trip to 2014 NCAA runner-up Notre Dame.
Chattanooga coach Jim Foster and Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer are longtime friends. Foster said they'd often discussed having their teams play each other. They set up this game as part of a home-and-home series, with Chattanooga playing at Stanford in 2015-16.
When Chattanooga last hosted Tennessee in 2012-13, the Lady Mocs upset the Lady Vols 80-71. Chattanooga lost 80-56 at Tennessee last season.
Chattanooga opens its season by hosting Villanova on Nov. 14.
