Check your email -- there's news there

I live on email.

I don’t think I’m alone.

I write often about how NewsOK and The Oklahoman have great websites, mobile sites and applications tailored for users of each product.

I write about how we’re on social media; how following NewsOK and The Oklahoman on Facebook and Twitter will often give you the key highlights about the news of the day.

I write about text messages that we send for news and sports updates.

But I don’t write enough about emails.

We’ve been delivering news through emails for many years now. I actually remember manually copying and pasting headlines and web addresses into an email that we manually sent. It was not one of my favorite jobs of the day.

Technology has helped. It’s not such a manual process to send the dozens of emails to our thousands of subscribers every day. That’s good.

And our developers have made a point to improve the display of our daily email newsletters. That improvement in the past few weeks has led me to open more of our own email alerts.

I’m also looking forward to our upcoming tests to these email deliveries.

We’ll be measuring tweaks to our design display. That’s what’s great about our development team for NewsOK and The Oklahoman. They will test and measure to the point that deciding on a final product is usually a no-brainer.

So if you haven’t been getting our daily emails, now’s the time to start again. All you have to do is log in to and go to your settings page — From there you can choose from a variety of emails that we will deliver.

It will serve you well as a reminder that news is happening while you carry on your busy day.
